Preventing the flu, particularly in the midst of the flu season, is not as difficult as most people think. There’s the flu shot, but there are safer options that will not put your health at risk because recent studies suggest that the flu vaccine might be unsafe.

The flu shot, as with other vaccines, has mercury, which has been tied to autism in young children. Besides mercury, several other hazardous chemicals can be found in flu shots, like formaldehyde and phenol.

Would you still want to be vaccinated against the flu knowing that you are injecting your body with toxins? Ignore the flu vaccine, below are six tips on how to safely prevent the flu:

Keep your hands clean. A sure-fire way to get the flu is by rubbing your eyes or nose after you come in contact with a person who already has the flu virus. By cleaning your hands frequently with warm soapy water, you greatly cut down the chance of getting sick from transmittable diseases such as the flu. Ideally, it is best to clean up before and after preparing food, before eating, after going to the bathroom, or whenever you feel like your hands are dirty.

Keep your place clean. Be sure that surfaces and objects, particularly those that often come in contact with you and your young ones, are cleaned and disinfect regularly.

Make healthy choices. Prevention is always better than the cure. Improve your natural defense versus the flu by strengthening your immune system. You can promote your immune system by making simple adjustments to your lifestyle, like shifting from coffee to tea, avoiding sugar, getting the right amount of sleep, and relaxing often.

Rest. When you feel like you are about to get the flu, take a breather and rest. This might be just for a few hours or a couple of days, which is better than catching the flu and having to miss work for much longer.

Stay away from unnecessary contact with other people. Minimize going to areas that are too crowded, such as shopping malls, theaters, and airports. This is crucial if you have problems with your immune system and for younger children, who can easily catch the flu.

Consume lots of water. Pure water would be best. Avoid distilled water because it has been sapped of nutrients. A quart of water for every 50 pounds of body weight is ideal. Stay away from sodas, coffee, and energy drinks.

For some, going to the gym to workout has become a dreary effort. This might be the case especially particularly those that workout solo. If you are looking to trim weight, diet pills and supplements will not be good enough either. You are left with no alternative but to break a lot of sweat.

The gym is not the only place you can exercise. With a little creativity and help from your friends, you can find activities that are not only enjoyable, but will help you trim that excess weight as well. Below are a few examples to give you a better idea.

Hiking. Bring together some of your buddies and head to the nearest hiking trail. There’s a couple of websites that will help you find a trail that would fit you best. If you’re feeling a tad more audacious, commune with nature some more and camp for the night.

Cycling. Biking has a number of health benefits, including improving your heart health and helping you sustain strength and coordination. Learning to work a bike is pretty easy too. Local cycling clubs are sure to lend you a hand if you are in need of assistance. Participate in events such as club rides if you feel that you’re up to it.

Dancing. Dancing will not only help you burn calories, it will also help you improve your social skills. Depending on what sort of dance you are doing, dancing has a lot of health benefits. For example, ballroom dancing is shown to soothe stress and help you develop stamina. Dance lectures will not be cheap for sure, but it is a lot more better than doing laps on a treadmill.

Pick up a physical sport. It is not important if you are good at it or not, as long as you’re out of the house and working those muscles.

Get a dog. There is nothing like taking your dog for a walk to kickoff your day. Go with medium or big-sized dog, as smaller ones are inclined to get exhausted fast.

One of the most valuable accomplishments a runner shoots for is to run in a marathon. Even just for kicks, entering a marathon is an activity everyone should attempt at least once. Not only will a marathon probe your stamina and condition, it also gauges your resolution and psychological health too.

The marathon has an extremely vivid history starting with its namesake, a Greek soldier called Pheidippides. After the Battle of Marathon, Pheidippides was said to have run a total of 26.2 miles from the town of Marathon to Athens to usher tidings of the winner. He then fainted and died after making known the breaking of the Persians.

Even though the marathon is a race, winning is not the primary purpose of most of the participants. Beating their last record or just finishing the race is sufficient enough particularly for recreational runners. Whether you’re running professionally or just for fun, training is strongly advised to avoid injuries.

Below are a couple of general tips that you might want to remember when preparing for a marathon. For your own safety, do not do anything forceful before having a talk with your doctor first.

If it is your first marathon, acquaint yourself first before commencing any kind of training. If you have pals or know anyone who has previous marathon experience, have a discussion with them so you would know what to expect. It is also best to ask your physician if there is any risk to your health if you participate.

Prime gear is the way to go. A certain mean to invite an injury is to train using spent shoes. Shop around and consult with seasoned sales agents and make sure to submit your new shoes a test-run before you purchase it.

Consider the weather and climate before getting dressed. Protect yourself from excessive sun by putting on sunscreen and wearing a hat.

Rest if you feel like you need it. You may not make it to the event if you push yourself too hard.

Keep a training log to help you keep track of your progress. Jot down your injuries and best times for later reference. Organize your next moves in advanced and make sure to stick with them.

Money is never an important factor in maintaining yourself hearty. With some imagination and a little effort, you can alter routine everyday errands into quick bursts of work out. With our present-day brittle economy, we must do everything to put every hard-earned dollar to effective use.

I consistently hear people whine about their weight and how they cannot do anything about it because of their monetary problem. The fact is they are just too shiftless to work out a resolution. They are just finding alibis to rationalize their lack of ambition to get whole. If you surely want to do something, you’ll certainly find a mean to resolve it no matter what, and working out is no exception.

The following are a couple of suggestions to aid you to not only stay slim, but conserve some money in the process as well. Before you press on with any work out exertion, do not forget to consult first with your doctor. Further, having a pair of training shoes would help out a lot.

Walk to work if you live just several blocks away. In place of hailing a cab or driving, sport your running shoes and put those leg muscles to work. This will help you save on gasoline and rid of calories at the same time! In case your house is far-off from your work, park a couple of blocks away and walk the rest of the way.

Get off the elevator a few floors shy of your office and take advantage of the stairs. It would be even better if you could scale the stairs all the way from the ground!

Take advantage of parks and jogging paths. These are often free to use and a good way to socialize with other health fans as well. Be alert and you might cull a number of advice that they may be ready to share. All you would need is a pair of good training shoes and you got yourself free use of Mother Nature’s treadmill.

Do quick stretches during work. Continued hours of sitting and doing work will cramp your muscles. Take a recess by performing some primary leg, arm, and back stretches. This should not take up 2 minutes of your time and is a good way to keep step with your work out pace.

Instead of hiring help, do your own loft cleaning. All that mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming will put your entire body to work. You’re sure to sweat 5 minutes into it.

Pick a sport and give it your best stab. Your target is not to win so don’t torture yourself if you don’t play good. You want to work a sweat and get rid of those gross undesirable fats. It would be more desirable if you can find buddies to accompany you.

Work out when having a night-out! Go to dance clubs or watch a concert rather than spending the night just sitting and drinking alcohol. This is yet another instance of blending work out with fun!

Put your choice foot forward. Smile and be truly interested when you are introduced to a co-worker. Despite the fact that this might be an uncomfortable situation to a few, give it your best to make the best of it and make sure to be charming at all times.

Names are critical! It would be uneasy if your co-worker addresses you by name and you could not because you don’t recall theirs. Full names are troublesome to remember, I am aware, that is why I would recommend to put forward your nickname when presented, and catch your co-workers’ as well.

Take advantage of lunch and snack hours. Lunch hours are the best times to hang out with your co-worker. Lunch-outs in particular would prove handy. An invitation presented towards you is an admirable gesture so don’t even think about refusing. Not welcoming it may be perceived as you wanting the counterpart to happen.

Brighten your workplace with conversation pieces. If permitted by your supervisor, tow along pictures, remembrances, toys, or whatever that may uncover dialogue when seen by co-workers. This is a good opportunity to let your co-workers know you a trifle better personally.

Be open. Not everyone will be fond of you. Save yourself some agitation and accept that now. At the same time, you are sure to run into someone who you won’t conform with and approve of either. Just bear in mind to watch your demeanor and never be uncouth. Instead, understand that each person is an individual, with varied likes and dislikes the same as you.

Don’t rush it! Give it some time and friendship will flourish naturally. There is no benefit forcing yourself to co-workers who unmistakably is not interested with having you as a friend. Again, things will happen in its own time. There’s no need to be too needy or clingy.
